Cross Continent Pageant Promotes Culture, Leadership and Drug Awareness

The first Miss & Mrs Cross Continent event in Dublin showed how a pageant can combine cultural diversity, leadership and practical community education. Approximately 450 people attended the Dublin programme, where 24 contestants representing seven nations presented their cultures, talents and personal messages. The pageant was organised by Miss & Mrs Cross Continent Events Ltd., with support from Broccoli Care Ltd. and cooperation from The Truth About Drugs Ireland. Before taking part in the stage programme, contestants and visitors toured a Truth About Drugs exhibition and learned about the effects of commonly abused substances. Some participants completed all fourteen educational modules, demonstrating that their preparation went beyond the traditional pageant format. Cllr. Francis Timmons, Mayor of South Dublin, spoke during the programme about the importance of bringing communities together through education. The pageant was accompanied by a diverse cultural programme featuring dancers from several community organisations. The principal title was awarded to Niveditha Vudayagiri, a software engineer who holds a master’s degree in AI. Fortunate Lindokuhle Masina and Yuki Yuliatin completed the top three as first and second runners-up.
